My Granny's Great Escape by Jeremy Strong (ebook)
In her quest to marry the man of her dreams, all sorts of hilarious and slapstick situations ensue. The text is accompanied by lovely pictures from illustrator Nick Sharatt. The illustrations alongside the crazy events in the story allow the reader to imagine clearly the scenes, which are so funny that readers are guaranteed to laugh out loud. This book is a longer book and has a series of diverse characters, so I believe it should be read alone by a pupil as a pleasurable read.
However, if a teacher has the talent with voices and can give life to a story, I am sure that this book will have the class roaring with laughter! Overall, this book is a brilliant book which I greatly enjoyed reading, and I am sure that children aged will also love reading too. View all 3 comments. Lancelot's dad portrayed as a uptight busybody and the boy's dad introduced as a cool character form an unlikely alliance to prevent them getting married. The rest of the family support the lovebirds and try to help them find to get married.
This is a really funny book, with lots of illustrations throughout, which add to the story. It is very cheeky and rebellious.
